Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To assist in providing on-site direction with a firm and authoritative presence for the clients and staff of Family Guidance Centers, enforcing behavioral expectations and agency policies. Ongoing communication with clinical team members is essential to effectively manage patient behavior during their treatment process.

  • When required to open building, a start time of 5:30am will be necessary to unlock all doors, turn on lights and prepare for the work day.
  • Prior to 6:00am, make sure clients are not loitering in front of the building, and at 6:00am, unlock front door to begin client dosing.
  • When required to close the building, work hours will be 10:30am until 7:00pm. Check all doors, clear floors of lingering staff, turn off all lights and set the alarm.
  • Between 11:00am an 12:00pm, patrol front of building to keep clients from loitering before our noon time reopening. Do not allow clients to prematurely line up in front of building.
  • Control client flow in lobby; keep clients behind privacy wall to dosing windows; direct clients to available windows; observe dosing windows.
  • The client exit is also our wheelchair ramp; when the ramp doorbell rings, provide assistance for ADA access to the building.
  • Observe all activities in the lobby area. Provide direction and monitor client flow to restroom, allowing only one client at a time access to the client restroom.
  • Enforce FGC’s no cell phone policy.
  • Conduct periodic patrols in the exterior and interior of building.When monitoring the exterior, observe loitering clients and monitor inappropriate activities, communicate any safety concerns or problematic behaviors to the Facilities Manager. When conducting interior patrols, check all floors of the building and direct any wandering clients or guests to their destination, communicating any safety concerns or deficiencies to your manager.
  • Observe and enforce FGC company policies with clients and staff.
  • Complete client behavior reports when clients fail to comply with FGC policy.
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner; work to solve the problem; if more assistance is needed, involve a member of management.
  • Report to manager any accidents/incidents with clients or staff, and complete Incident Reports.
  • At times, it may be necessary to assist with light janitorial work particularly on weekend shifts.
  • Assist with Toxicology functions, as needed.


Schedule: Monday thru Friday 10:30am - 7:00pm with Saturdays rotation 6:00am - 12:30pm

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience: Employee must be a minimum 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or GED. Candidate must have some form of security experience or training and demonstrate excellent customer service. Must be able to de-escalate difficult situations, and be able to work with the treatment team as well as independently.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Clearances from CFS 689 Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System, and CFS 708-C Background Check for Non-Licensed Contract Staff.
