Job Description:

Family Guidance of Ohio, a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization treats and prevents substance use disorders, as well as an array of other related problems is currently seeking a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor for our Outpatient Methadone (OMT) Counselor position. Must have active Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC). Family Guidance of Ohio offers opportunities for individuals with an interest in behavioral health. 

The OMT Counselor essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Developing patient treatment plans and conducts continued stay review based on research, clinical experience, and patients’ histories - using SAMMS assessment on computer. Provide patient intakes, treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge with individual and group therapy for a full spectrum of referral sources; Provides mental health assessments, constructs treatment plans and provides therapy services to clients with serious mental illnesses in accordance with Illinois DMH Rule 132 requirements; Provides direct clinical service to a full caseload, achieving a minimum of 20 billable hours weekly; Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding patients’ histories and progress, services provided, or other required information; Assess individual’s degree of drug dependency by collecting and analyzing drug screening samples; and as well as interview patients, review records and confer with other professionals to evaluate individual’s mental health and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program; Review and evaluate patients’ progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience: A minimum of an Bachelors' degree in a behavioral science or nursing. One year (2,000 hours) of chemical dependency counseling related work experience of chemical dependency counseling related work experience (compensated work or supervised internship),180 hours of chemical dependency specific education in nine specific content areas. 220 practical experience hours in the twelve core functions; this may be completed as part of your work experience requirements, Successful completion of the ADC examination or completion of examination waiver form.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) in good standing with state board is required.
