Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers toxicology tests; oral swabs, urine specimens, ensuring they are done correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Enters accurate toxicology information into database.
  • Provides excellent oral and written customer service to staff, clients and guests.
  • Ensures all completed state and private drops are being logged into SAMMS.
  • Ensures all completed DCFS drops are being logged in accordance with the DCFS tracking system.
  • Performs accurate USPO, probation and pre-trial urine specimens collection and complete paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Provides information over the phone, fax or mail, to caseworkers when they call for information about their client.
  • Stores all toxicology tests including urine specimens properly
  • Packages and mails out all toxicology tests including urine specimens as scheduled.
  • Observes toxicology tests including urine drops must be appropriately and carefully.

  • Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing, and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff patient families, and any outside patients.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, often up and down stairs. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands or fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Employee must be able to utilize a computer, phone, etc. for extended period of time and write or type notes for at least two (2) to four (4) hours per day.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Work Location: 310 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60654

Schedule: Generally, Monday-Friday: 6:30am-2:45pm, with Saturday rotation as needed. Some 2nd shift work may be required. Flexibility in schedule is required.

** Start Date: ASAP  (Male Preferred due to DCFS and USPO Contracts)

Education and/or Experience: Must be a minimum 18 years of age. One or two years of customer service experience. Must have good computer skills and detailed oriented. Must be able to work with a team as well as independently.
