Job Description:

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Since 1969, FGC's comprehensive programming has educated and guided individuals toward their full potential as productive members within their own families and our society.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops patient treatment plans and conducts continued stay review based on assessed needs and progress.
  • Provides patient intakes, treatment planning, case coordination and referrals, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge planning.
  • Counsels patients individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
  • Completes and maintain accurate records or reports regarding patients’ histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
  • Interviews patients, review records and confer with other professionals to evaluate individual’s mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program.
  • Coordinates counseling efforts with mental health professionals or other health professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or social workers.
  • Reviews and evaluates patient’s progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
  • Modifies treatment plans to comply with changes in patient status.
  • Intervenes as an advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in potential crisis situations.
  • Makes recommendations for staff hires and discharges.
  • Trains new support staff and new clinical employees and interns.
  • Provides prompt performance evaluations, clinical competency reviews and help staff define learning and training needs as well as the development of future goals.
  • Conducts regular, scheduled, clinical supervision meetings with each counselor and document.
  • Conducts regular team meetings and document.
  • Provides direct clinical service to a partial caseload, achieving minimum10 billable hours weekly.
  • Coordinates and approve staff schedules, time off requests and maintain Paylocity timekeeping records.
  • Ensures that both routine and emergency building/facility issues are promptly communicated with FGC Management, as applicable, and that action has been taken to resolve the issue.
  • Ensures FGC Team participation in all fire and safety codes/drills.
  • As part of risk management, ensure clear concise written reporting of any incidents and forward to FGC Risk Management Officer.
  • Knows and disseminates FGC policies and procedures, periodically reviewing key SOP areas with staff.
  • Contributes to new ideas and problem solving communicating with administrative supervisor.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of high level communication by clearly modeling active communication to staff and soliciting information and feedback from staff and sharing with the management team.
  • Supervising the Office Manager, ensure that documentation for FGC accounting, such as daily cash reconciliation, other accounts payable information, accounts receivable information, and service production verification (e.g. reporting of toxicology production, client treatment openings, etc.) is accurate and timely.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed using appropriate de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Provide community relations interacting as appropriate with other providers and community members (e.g. ODJFS office of families and children, local Police Dept., county probation departments, local businesses, treatment facilities, health and mental health service providers, etc.) and maintains active linkage agreements.
  • Serves as an effective role model for written and verbal communication.
  • Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but may be altered or redesigned, depending upon individual circumstances.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:00a - 2:30p)

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree in a behavioral healthcare field with licensure is required. Leadership and supervision skills are necessary to ensure staff and program development.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: State of Ohio Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker required. Must have active credentials required to supervise substance abuse treatment services.
