Job Description:

Metro Prep High School, Grade School and Laureate Day School have been educating and supporting students with special needs for over 25 years supported by FGC.

Using a multidisciplinary approach, Metro Prep and Laureate Day School provides educational and therapeutic learning opportunities in a small, nurturing environment. This allows our staff to tailor each student’s program to meet his or her individual needs.

Located: Arlington Heights, our 3 private therapeutic day programs enroll ED, SLD, OHI, & AUT eligible students.

The School Psychologist is primarily responsible for:

  • To maintain clinical responsibility for all referred diagnostic referrals, to maintain a schedule of enrolled students MDC triennial dates.
  • To conduct diagnostic testing and individual psychotherapy as necessary on a weekly basis as designated on the IEP.
  • To remain in contact with families to either complete a diagnostic assessment and coordinate follow-up.
  • To collaborate with co-workers in the implementation of the IEP.
  • To maintain clinical work (i.e. weekly progress notes, quarterly progress notes, incident reports, therapeutic summaries, etc.)
  • To implement school disciplinary procedures as necessary.
  • To attend all required staff meetings and in-services.
  • To meet weekly with the Clinical Director in supervision.
  • To participate in weekly Case Conference Presentation.
  • To participate in the shared duties and responsibilities necessary to the functioning of the milieu and school community as specified by administration.
  • To update progress on IEP quarterly or as needed.
  • To complete written report on student's progress quarterly or as needed.
  • To perform other duties as assigned by the principal & clinical director.

Metropolitan Preparatory & Laureate Day School

Regular School Year Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 3:30 PM

Summer Session Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 AM-12:30 PM;  Wednesday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

 

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience: Doctoral degree in Clinical or School Psychology; Documented experience testing children and adolescents and interacting with their families in a therapeutic environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Licensed or license-eligible Psychologist or Type 73 School Psychologist certificate.
