Job Description:

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Since 1969, FGC's comprehensive programming has educated and guided individuals toward their full potential as productive members within their own families and our society.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Assist with Recovery Orientated Systems of Care in implementation of subcommittees, specific to learning collaborative and recovery in action.
  • Provide family support and/or educational groups.
  • Support, model, and teach recovery values including hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
  • Represent Family Guidance Centers on community coalitions, as assigned.
  • Coordinate and participate with partnerships in Sangamon County area that support recovery.
  • Ability to work with persons in their natural environment and assist with linkage to ancillary services.
  • Engages patients in treatment through motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement techniques.
  • Develops individualized Recovery Plans with patients that emphasize relapse prevention strategies and use of natural supports in patient’s community.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Number of Openings: 1

Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00a - 3:30p or 8:00a - 4:30p) with Saturday rotation (6:00a - 12:00p)

Experience and Skills:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling required; Master's degree preferred. Two years of experience working with substance use and/or mental health preferred.

 

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) required. Specifically noted, a CADC is required at minimum within 2 years from date of hire. Additionally a Certified Recovery Support Services (CRSS) is preferred.
