Job Description:

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Since 1969, FGC's comprehensive programming has educated and guided individuals toward their full potential as productive members within their own families and our society.

                                        

Essential Duties: 

  • Promotes positive customer service culture which encourages quality patient outcomes
  • Prepares food to be served using established production procedures and systems
  • Prepares and sets steam table
  • Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining room
  • Works cooperatively with other cooks in evaluating cafeteria leftovers
  • Labels, dates, and stores leftovers properly
  • Consults production sheets for thawing and doing advance preparation when possible
  • Completes and posts sign-up sheets daily.
  • Stores food properly and safely, marking date and item.
  • Assists Lead Cook with the development and standardization of recipes
  • Assists Lead Cook with planning cooking schedule to have food prepared on time
  • Keeps work area clean and sanitizes work surfaces
  • Completes food temperature checks before service.
  • Prepares and serves food for special functions as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:30a - 3:00p  or  10:00a - 6:30p) with weekend rotation (6:30a - 6:30p)

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma / GED required; At least two years of institutional food service experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service Sanitation Certification.
