Essential Duties: Assist in developing a service plan to cover Illinois Department of Human Services Region 4 (including the completion of a scan of prevention services in the region (pregnancy, violence, bullying, etc.) Designing approaches for integrating substance use prevention services and utilizing the 6 CSAP strategies to focus on localizing substance use prevention through service integration. Identify and approach prevention-type organizations throughout IDHS Region 4 to assess and engage in the expansion of current services to include substance use prevention Collaborate to build and support a Regional Advisory Board consisting of individuals from the wide array of prevention-type organizations throughout Region 4 Provide training and support of prevention organizations on how to identify substance use prevention needs and how to decide what strategies to utilize throughout the service area(s) Develop and present monthly on the six CSAP strategies, substance use prevention services, and other prevention resources to different prevention-type organizations as well as other community stakeholders Function as a regional substance use prevention subject matter expert, having a minimum of five years' experience in providing or overseeing substance use prevention programming Other duties as assigned Schedule: Monday - Friday (40 hrs./wk.) day shift; Flexibility to meet agency needs is required Start Date: April 1st, 2023 Work Location: Hybrid (2924 Stanton St, Springfield, IL and Remote) Family Guidance Centers, Inc is a Drug Free Environment, an Equal Opportunity Employer. Experience and Skills: Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required; A minimum of 5 years' experience implementing, supervising, or providing technical assistance in Substance Use Prevention programming required. Excellent working knowledge of needs assessment process, 6 CSAP strategies, and the statewide substance use prevention resources. Ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of prevention-type organizations (Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Teen REACH, Homeless Youth, CCBYS, etc.). Strong background in identifying substance use prevention needs, as well as the ability to make decisions on strategies that best fit in a diverse population. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Prevention Specialist preferred, but not required.
