Job Description:

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC), a not-for-profit behavioral healthcare organization, treats and prevents substance abuse, as well as an array of other related problems. Essential Duties:

  • Develops and coordinates reentry programs/trainings to ensure job placement and employment opportunities for these residents whom may need these special services
  • Develops, coordinates and implements job readiness, linkages and job placement services for the criminal justice population that includes but limited to sex offenders, individuals with complex medical and mental health concerns and female offenders         
  • Promote family involvement in the program planning process to eliminate any potential barriers to job placement or readiness programs
  • Provide resident training classes in job seeking and job readiness skills
  • Provide money management skill instruction to residents
  • Participates and attends Program Review Team meetings, providing employment input on each resident
  • Assist the Program Manager with and maintaining telephone and in-person contact with Institution Reentry Affairs Coordinators
  • Assist the Case Manager with resident program planning and resident weekly and bi-weekly reviews
  • Other duties assigned

 

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00a - 3:30p)

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor degree (or higher) in Addiction Counseling, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Counseling, or a closely related curriculum, from an accredited institution required  

 

Certification, Licensed, Registrations:  Licensure is not required; State of Illinois LPC, LSW, LCSW, or LCPC encouraged to apply

 

Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work or Behavioral Science related discipline from an accredited Institution. Masters in Social Work preferred. LSW/LCSW preferred but not mandatory. Minimum one year of experience working in the social service field in relevant position. Criminal justice/related field experience preferred. Valid Illinois driver’s license and insurance. Must provide copies of driver’s license. The employee will be required to travel, driving their own vehicle.
