Metro Prep High School, Grade School and Laureate Day School have been educating and supporting students with special needs for over 25 years supported by FGC.  Using a multidisciplinary approach, Metro Prep and Laureate Day School provides educational and therapeutic learning opportunities in a small, nurturing environment. This allows our staff to tailor each student’s program to meet his or her individual needs.

Essential Duties:

• To assist during arrival and dismissal of students

• To assist teacher in maintaining classroom and school rules

• To attend all scheduled meetings

• To actively participate and give feedback during meetings.

• To assist teacher with the various tasks: Xeroxing, grading student assignments , documenting behaviors on point sheets, tallying % on point sheets.

• To participate in weekly planning

• To assist students both academically and socially

• To assist teacher when implementing individual, small group and large group lessons

• To assist teacher in maintaining and upkeep an inventory of classroom materials

• To assist with planning and chaperone school field trips and level events

• To assist staff in crisis intervention and physical management

• To help maintain milieu management when no students are in class

• To adhere to and support the philosophy of Metro Prep and Laureate Day School

• To perform duties as assigned by the principal, assistant principal or coordinators

Regular School Year Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00a - 3:30p)

Summer School Session: Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri (8:00a - 12:30p); Wed (8:00a - 3:30p)

Education and/or Experience: 30 semester hours college credit, pass paraprofessional exam or graduated from a paraprofessional program

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: State issued paraprofessional licenses, TCI
